Kayleigh Granville
Kayleigh Granville grew up in Newtown, Connecticut and has been dancing throughout her life. She has studio training in a variety of modern techniques, as well as in ballet and acrobatics. She also trained in a mixture of modern, contemporary, and jazz as a competitive member of the Newtown Marching Nighthawks Color Guard and Winter Guard. She has competed around the eastern seaboard and was a Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championships semi-finalist in 2012 (Scholastic A) and 2014 (Scholastic Open). Kayleigh also discovered a love for teaching as an instructor for the junior varsity Winter Guard.
Kayleigh is passionate about supporting equitable dance opportunities and is interested in using movement as a way to connect people to nature and their bodies. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Connecticut, and relocated to Charlottesville in 2019 to pursue her PhD in Environmental Science at the University of Virginia. She is overjoyed to have the opportunity to dance and perform again with Cumulus!
