Kelsey Lee

Kelsey Lee (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily with movement and multimedia through improvisational, experimental and research-based processes. Their works are often enveloped in worlds built to disrupt expectations, and have been presented at festivals and art galleries throughout the midwest, including Midwest RAD Fest, Milwaukee Fringe Festival, Cleveland Dance Festival, PrideFest Milwaukee, and The Magalen. In 2020, she received an Artist Opportunity Grant from Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District that fully funded her residency at the Winter Artist Exchange at Ponderosa in Germany. They graduated with honors from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Contemporary Dance Performance & Choreography with a double major in Psychology in 2018. There, she received two undergraduate research fellowships for somatic research under the mentorship of Maria Gillespie. After graduation, they completed a Meisner technique training program at The Acting Studio in NYC, New York. She’s performed with Hixon Dance, Hyperlocal MKE, Columbus Modern Dance Company, Quasimondo Milwaukee Physical Theatre, Gina Laurenzi Dance Project, Peter Stathas Dance, and Reggie Wilson/Fist & Heel Performance Group, to name a few. They are also a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200).
